This Epiphany our focus in Morning Bell is on what is at the heart of the Orthodox celebration of this season – the Theophany – the manifestation of God the Holy Trinity in the baptism of Jesus the Christ, and the gift of this Christ to the whole world. We are wondering how the Theophany might inform and inspire our life of prayer, our sense of being and our call to action.
The images for the series are all made from photos taken by Ian in Berlin. You may also glimpse elements of a beautiful ceiling mosaic, celebrating the Theophany, at the Orthodox monastery of Daphni. The text for the series is inspired by the gospel texts recounting the baptism of the Christ. As Jesus the Christ is revealed as the beloved Son of God, so too we may step deeper into our own sense of being deeply loved…
